Matt Oppenheimer co-founded Remitly in 2011 and serves as Chief Executive Officer and a member of the board of directors. Prior to co-founding Remitly, Matt worked for Barclays plc, a multinational bank and financial services company, from August 2009 to May 2011. He has served on the board of directors of BECU since 2018. Matt was named EY Entrepreneur of the Year 2016 in the Pacific Northwest and has been recognized as a Puget Sound Business Journal “40 Under 40” honoree for his work with Remitly. He holds an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School and a B.A. in Psychology from Dartmouth College.
Vikas Mehta has served as Chief Financial Officer of Remitly since August 2024. Prior to Remitly, Mehta served as CFO of Komodo Health. Before Komodo, Mehta held CFO roles at Anaplan and Nike Direct, as well as significant leadership positions at Walmart, Microsoft, and PayPal. In addition, he mentors entrepreneurs at Techstars and Alchemist Accelerator. Mehta holds an M.B.A. from the University of Washington, a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Gujarat University, India, and a Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) certification from the UK.
Ankur Sinha has served as Chief Product and Technology Officer at Remitly since February of 2022. Prior to Remitly, Ankur served as an Engineering Director at Google from May 2019 to February 2022, overseeing commerce technologies in Google Cloud. Before Google, Ankur held various positions at Microsoft Corporation from January 2007 to April 2019, including most recently Senior Director for multiple Microsoft services & experiences. From June 2001 to December 2006, Ankur served as Co-founder and Chief Technology Officer of India startup, RA Systems. Ankur holds a B.S. in Information Technology from Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University.
Pankaj Sharma has served as Remitly's Chief Business Officer since February 2024. Prior to his current role he was EVP, Global Remittance Business Management since October of 2022, and served in various leadership roles in business management since January 2018, including, EVP, International. Before joining Remitly, Pankaj served in various roles for Lebara and consulting roles at KPMG, The Louis Berger Group, and Ernst & Young. Pankaj holds a Bachelor of Technology degree in Chemical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay (IIT Bombay) and an MBA from the London Business School.
Saema Somalya joined Remitly in December 2020, and serves as Chief Legal and Corporate Affairs Officer. Prior to joining Remitly, Saema served as SVP, Deputy General Counsel (Corporate) and Assistant Secretary for Fifth Third Bancorp and Fifth Third Bank, N.A. from May 2016 to November 2020 and as SVP, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary for Warren Resources, Inc, from February 2014 to January 2016. From April 2009 to January 2014, she served as Senior Legal Director and Corporate Counsel to PepsiCo, Inc.. Saema holds a J.D. from Yale Law School and a B.A. in International Relations and Affairs from Yale University.
Ronit has served as Chief People Officer of Remitly since May 2024. Prior to Remitly, Ronit served as Chief People Officer of DreamBox Learning from April 2021 to November 2023. There, she led the people function and championed operational efficiency during a time of rapid growth. From October 2010 to April 2021 she held the role of Global Head of People and Culture at OpenMarket (now Infobip Ltd.). Ronit holds a bachelor's degree in Social Work from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
David Beckel is Remitly’s VP of Investor Relations & Strategic Finance. David most recently served as Head of Investor Relations and CFO of Digital & IT Services at Xerox, where he ran the Investor Relations Program. Prior to Xerox, David spent 10 years as a sell side research analyst, including time at Bernstein Research and Berenberg Capital Markets, where he served as Head of US Consumer Research. He previously held senior positions at Greenhill & Co, Lehman Brothers and Ernst & Young. David is a licensed certified public accountant and holds an MBA from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Science from Indiana University.
